Neiba calls for promoting peace and harmony

Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Nagaland, Neiba Kronu has appealed to the community leaders to take wise decisions to promote peace and harmony in the community as they are essential for progress and development. 

Kronu said this while addressing the gathering as guest speaker during general meeting of Khezha/Kuzha Tephe Public Organization (KKTPO) held at Pfutsero town on Tuesday. 

Addressing the Chakhesang leaders, he reminded about the Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) resolutions on conservation of Zanubu and Kepamodzu forests under Phek district, whereby he called on the leaders to intensify efforts towards bio-diversity conservation of Kepamodzu forest as all the KKTPO villages falls under the Kepamodzu range. The minister also reminded the gathering that their survival depended a lot on the conservation of its forest resources. Kronu stated that all the advanced nations of the world have their own share of problems and told them that one should not be entangled with trivial issues that hamper progress and development of the society.

He congratulated the KKTPO team for successfully leading the area and appreciated them for taking crucial decisions for the community. While thanking the people for reposing their faith in electing him for the third time as their representative, Kronu spoke on the importance of stability in the government to bring developmental activities to the constituency. He also spoke on his commitment and determination to develop Pfutsero constituency as a model constituency in the state and reminded the people that it was possible if everyone worked together. To achieve this, he said road connectivity, sports infrastructure, Agri link roads, development of tourism were vital.

He also spoke on the scope of eco-tourism prospects in the area and also stressed on the importance of creating home stay infrastructures in the villages to give rural home stay experience to the tourists. 

President Tenyimia People’s Organization (TPO) Timikha Koza, president Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) Mikha Kenye and president Kuzhalhu Zawe (KZ) Neilo Khape also addressed the gathering.

Earlier, programme was led by Kevisanyu Marhu, Welete Kapfo, convenor KKTPO nomination committee presented new team of office bearers to be led by Neikhwetso Mero as president. Vote of thanks was proposed by Zekozo Mero and closing prayer by Rev. Dr. Dingu Kenye president CBCC.
