NEILIT conducts FDP on e-Learning at Kohima

NIELIT Kohima conducted faculty development programme (FDP) on e-Learning content development and delivery system for faculties of Nagaland University Kohima from June 17 to 23 in collaboration with Nagaland University (NU). 

A press release from NIELIT director L. Lanuwabang stated that, pro vice chancellor NU, Kohima campus, Meriema, professor M. Aleminla Ao was the guest of honour during the inaugural programme. 

She expressed hope that the five-day training would impart the much needed technological skills to the faculty. 

She also exhorted the participants to sincerely avail the opportunity since the current pandemic has taught people to accept the reality and keep up with the changes and challenges that come along.

She further said that this programme was the need of the hour and thanked director and officials of NIELIT for facilitating the same.  

During his keynote address, director of NIELIT L. Lanuwabang said such training would empower the teaching faculty with the much needed technological skills and help them to overcome the challenges faced by the institution. 

He added that with this sudden shift away from the classroom, adoption of technology in learning has become crucial, whereby E-learning was to create an augmented learning environment where technology is used to deliver a combined range of teaching and learning techniques. 

Varied topics were covered such as tools and technique for e-content preparation, audio-visual e-content preparation for self-paced learning and instructor led online classes, online delivery of lecture and content using cloud based classroom and through learning management system. 

Trainees were also shown how to create course/subjects/topics, creating quiz, assignments, grading and keeping track of student activities etc. 

They also registered in the LMS and uploaded their e-Content prepared during the training period. 

NIELIT is planning to conduct more such trainings in near future and interested may contact NIELIT Kohima for further information.
