Community development specialization, MSW trainees, of North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) organized a poster presentation on 17 sustainable development goals on November 13, at NEISSR conference hall, with the aim of promoting awareness to achieve these goals at the personal, institutional, local, national and international level.

A press release from NEISSR stated that, Rev. Dr. Fr. C. P Anto, principal of NEISSR, encouraged the trainees to be agents towards achieving the set targets. Presentation was witnessed by the students’ community and the management and accordingly questions were raised on various topics.

The poster presentation of the 17 goals were divided among 6 groups with four members and each poster focused on the term “sustainability” which viewed it as humanity’s target goal of human-ecosystem equilibrium.

Each of the 17 goals has specific targets to be achieved by 2030, inclusive of all the countries around the world, and not just the poor countries.

This event marked the beginning of attaining these goals to the civil society and people everywhere, for which concerted action is required on all fronts.
