Nepali gospel voice hunt season 2 held

 Voice hunt season - II, the Nepali gospel singing competition in and around Dimapur Nepali Churches organized by Nepali Baptist Church (NBC) Chümoukedima youth department was held on November 11 at Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima.

The programme was graced by joint secretary of Dimapur Gorkha Union, Samir Gurung, who in his speech focused on how music plays an important role in the life of youth and encouraged each participant to glorify Lord with their God given talents. 

This was the second time the community of Gorkha NBC Chümoukedima youth department took initiative of organising singing competition for Nepali singers. 

Its principle aim was to nurture and provide platform for the upcoming singers, teenagers and musicians of Christian Gorkha youths in Dimapur to develop their music skills. 

The music ministry of NBC Chümoukedima youth department also aimed to make use of music to strengthen friendship and to bridge the gap between the Gorkha community by worshiping and praising God’s grace. The contest was of two categories solo singing (karaoke) and solo acoustic singing. 

All together 10 contestants from eight different Gorkha Churches of Dimapur took part in the event namely NBC Walford, GBC Viola, GCC Darogapathar, NBC Chümoukedima, Bread of Life Church Naharbari, NBC Padum pukhuri, GBC Diphupar.

Winners of the Nepali gospel voice hunt season - II winners were, in acoustic category: First prize was bagged by Edna Rai of Gorkha Baptist Church Diphupar; second by Dipak Sunar of Gorkha Christian Church Darogapathar; and third by Anand Thapa of Gorkha Baptist Church Viola. 

In karaoke category the first prize was bagged by Yeshi Thapa of Bread of Life Church Naharbari; second prize by Vivek Lamgadey of Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima; while third prize was bagged by Rahul Sharma of Nepali Baptist Church Padumpukhuri.
