New sub-centre at Bhumnyu village

CMO Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla as special guest inaugurated the sub-centre at Bhumnyu village by unveiling the monolith on July 9. 

A press release from CMO office Longleng, district media officer Roseline stated that, Dr Obangjungla in her speech lauded the village council and village health committee for their active participation in making the sub-centre come into reality. She also said that the village has achieved a milestone and said that it was an auspicious day for the villagers and the community as a whole. 

She also appealed to the staff at the new sub-centre and the village health committee to emphasize on VHND, weekly and monthly reporting, which was mandatory for the smooth functioning of the health unit. CMO also spoke on the benefits and advantages of a health unit at the village level saying that the newly inaugurated health unit will cover the basic healthcare emergencies in the village. She further assured the community that the department will look into all the necessities in the health unit and also requested the village council, elders, and village health committee to continue to extend their help and support to the department. 

DPO (RCH/UIP) Dr Imnameren Phom, while delivering a short message said that Bhumnyu village sub-centre was the 9th sub-centre in the district. Dr Imnameren Phom also requested the communities, church leaders, students and women leaders to join hands and work together, so that the newly inaugurated health unit would be upgraded in a few years time.  He also requested the ASHAs to work sincerely as they were the backbone in the health unit and also appealed the communities to extend their help and support to the ASHAs. 

EAC headquarter Longleng, Pichano Kikon also lauded the village elders for joining hands and making the inauguration a big success, keeping in mind the importance of healthcare sector. EAC cited that the new sub-centre was a ray of hope for the community and requested the communities of Bhumnyu village to make it as the best sub-centre in Nagaland. 

Short speeches were delivered by Leisha Phom (land donor) and Y B Angam Phom ex- candidate 50 A/C Longleng, in the programme chaired by Angai Phom. Invocation prayer was pronounced by pastor Dungkhao Baptist Church H Menyu and a special song from Bhumnyu Baptist Youth Endeavor. Programme was attended by the village council members, village elders, DBs, and medical officers and staff from CMO office. District media officer also handed out IEC materials, posters, and leaflets from all the vertical programs at the new sub-centre. Earlier, dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev. N Mongmei pastor, Bhumnyu Baptist Church.
