NFHRCC appeals Gov on road project

Nagaland Foothills Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi, to press the Centre to declare the foot hills road project as National Highway. In a press release, NFHRCC convenor Supu Jamir and general secretary W Lemba Chang stated that once the foot hills road was constructed it would be a lifeline for the entire state, unemployment problem would be addressed to a large extent and the state economy would “reap the bountiful harvest”. NFHRCC has, therefore, expressed strong belief that Governor “fully understands” the aspiration of the Naga public.

NFHRCC also expressed the wish to have a sitting with Governor at earliest in order to project the clear picture of the “historic project” so the right prescription would be prescribed to the project through the intervention of Governor and Interlocutor of Indo-Naga peace talk.

Meanwhile, the committee has urged upon the Doyang bridge contractor to resume the bridge construction immediately as working season has already set in.

Stating that foothills road would not survive without Doyang Bridge, the NFHRCC has, therefore, appealed to the bridge contractor to complete the bridge construction within this working season.

NFHRCC expressed surprise as to why all the major projects in the state were often delayed and sometime abandoned without completion.

In this regard, the committee has appeal to all responsible including politicians, bureaucrats, technocrats and contractors “not to always focus for our advantages”.
