NFHS-5 launched across Nagaland

National Family Health Survey fifth round (NFHS-5) under ministry of Health & Family Welfare, government of India has been launched in Nagaland.

A press release by NFHS5, Nagaland, project state coordinator, Alice Kamei, stated that the survey has been initiated by the Union Ministry with the specific goals of providing essential data on health and family welfare needed by the central and state governments and other stakeholders, for policy formulation and also acquiring information on important emerging health and family welfare issues.

The release informed that the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, a deemed university and an autonomous organization of ministry of health &family welfare is the nodal agency for conducting the survey on behalf of the Ministry.

IIPS has engaged field agencies to conduct field work of the survey which will cover 11 districts of the state. 

In this regard, the field agency and the state coordinator have requested the public to render all possible help and cooperate with the district teams.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
