Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) has welcomed the recent signing of Bodo peace accord between the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) and the Government of India.

In a press release, NGBF president Sahleem Konyak and general secretary Shikuto Zalipu congratulated the Bodo community of Assam and government of India for reaching a “consensus” leading to signing of peace accord followed by surrendering of arms and ammunitions.
NGBF maintained that signing of the peace accord has “boost up the chance to bring permanent peace in the north east region.” It also lauded the effort that has created a significant milestone under the leaderships of both the Prime Minister and chief minister of Assam. NGBF expressed belief that “this gesture of peace initiative should inspire all of us” and added that “we should strive for peace for better conditions of living in our North East region.”
