Various NGOs working on AIDS in Nagaland has expressed deep concern over the disbanding of Legislative Forum on AIDS (LFA), first conceptualized by the UNAIDS decades ago.

A press release by Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre chief functionary, Chenithung Humtsoe stated that, NGOs like Akimbo Society Dimapur, Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre Dimapur, Care Counselling Centre Mokokochung, Care & Support Society Mokokchung, Eureka Life Foundation Phek, Grace Society Changtongia, Guardian Angel Dimapur, IBAPO Kiphirie, Jerimen Youth Society Jerimen, Lightway Society Pfutssero, Prodigal’s Home Dimapur, Rural Area Foundation (RAF) Dimapur, Shansham Organisation Mon, Yingli Mission Society Longleng and Zion Welfare Society Baghty have appealed the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet colleagues to reconsider the decision and restore back the sanctity of the LFA and let each legislator command ownership of the issue without any partisan feelings.
Pointing out that LFA had shown a tremendous effort in the past and while progressing on the right direction, the release stated that it was very tragic to abruptly disband the great mission, which would alienate the elected lawmaker from the realities of HIV and AIDS.
