The Naga Hoho is filled with immense joy to learn the recognition and the honour accorded to Dr. Michael Van Walt Van Praag, founding member of Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) by the government of Netherlands on the 24th of April 2020. Dr. Michael has been honored with a Knighthood in recognition of his “Life-long dedication and commendable achievements in support of the Unrepresented and oppressed Nations and peoples of the world; his tireless mediating activities to resolve intrastate conflicts through the non-profit organization Kreddha; as well as his academic pursuits”. He is also honored with Royal Distinction of Commander in the order of Orange - Nasseu for “exceptional service to society with a global impact”.  It is noteworthy that his leadership and immense contribution towards Naga cause has led to the admission of Naga Nation to UNPO in 1993; and active involvement in political negotiations between Government of India and the Naga people particularly during the initial period is notable which will be remembered in all days to come.

The Naga people with pride and honor congratulate Dr. Michael for his achievement which comes through his humble contribution and commitment for the cause of the struggling nations and peoples across the world.
