NIM hold seminar on ‘counselling skills’

Three-day seminar on “counselling skills” organised by Nagaland Interserve Ministry (NIM) concluded on November 28 at Ecclesia Theological College & Seminary.

A press release by NIM informed that the seminar was held with Dr. B.J. Prashantham, Professor of Counselling Psychology & Director Institute of human relation Counselling & Psychotheraphy, CCC Vellore as the resource person.
On the first day, Dr. B.J. Prashantham spoke on Jesus’ style of counselling coupled with seven principles of holistic approaches while addressing the whole person (bio-psycho-social-spiritual) aspects of healing. 
The second day was dedicated to teaching skills of counselling where responding, initiating and action facilitating skills were introduced, explained and elaborated. 
The third day was based on the importance of referral counselling, counselling to different age groups and how to self care to prevent burn-outs, stated the release. 
The release informed that special emphasis was also given to alcoholism, its approaches and its treatment options. Introduction was given by NIM counsellor, Khevili Jakhalu, vote of thanks by NIM board member, Kitoli and presentation and benediction by founder, Ecclesia Theological College & Seminary, Rev. Dr. Vikheshe Chishi.
World renowned psychologist and Professor; 50 years of professional experience as a trainer and supervisor of many counsellors; International consultant in UK, Germany, USA and Indonesia, and more, was the resource Speaker. Altogether 110 delegates attended the seminar.
