NLSA day observed

Nagaland State Legal Services Authorities (NSLSA) observed National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) day with the rest of the country on November 9 by conducting various programmes and activities across the state. 

In Kohima, a legal awareness programme was organised by High Court Legal Services Committee, Kohima Bench at Bar Room, Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench.

In the programme, judge of Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, Justice Manish Choudhury said legal services authorities were constituted to bring out a structured programme to render pro bono services and achieve the goals of Article 39 (A) under the Constitution of India. Advocate and president, NVCO & Professor Kohima Law College, Kezhokhoto Savi also spoke on the topic, “Consumer awareness campaign relating to food safety and security”. 

DLSAs cleanliness drive 

In observance of the day, the district legal services authorities, panel lawyers and para legal volunteers carried out cleanliness drive at Kohima- Naga Hospital Authority Kohima; Moinang Park Longleng, Kiphire town, City Tower area, Dimapur, Peren town square, Zunheboto District Hospital, Mokokchung town and Phek district, Tuensang Civil Hospital as well. 

‘Best zonal panel lawyer’

Panel lawyer, Shanchobeni P Lotha has been conferred as the “best zonal panel lawyer”– (North East Zonal Category) during the NSLA day -cum-commendation ceremony of best Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), Para Legal (PLs) and State Legal Service Authorities (SLSAs) and District Legal Service Authorities (DLSAs) on November 9 at Additional Building Complex, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi. Shanchobeni was empanelled under Wokha District Legal Services Authority on November 24, 2017. She was earlier conferred the “best panel lawyer” in the state.  

PDLSA: Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) with the district administration, Pochury Baptist Church Council and CASA members of AC+Alliance observed National Legal Services Day on November 9 by organizing cleanliness drive for a clean environment and legal awareness programme at Meluri.
