Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has said that the State Government has not made any demand to the Centre for the removal of the present NEIGRIHMS director, Dr D.M. Thappa, reports Northeast Today.

“The main concern of the State Government is to resolve the present stalemate of the institute. The Government has not made any demand to transfer anyone. In the past eight months we have been asking the Centre to resolve the present stalemate in NEIGRIHMS,” Sangma told reporters recently.

He, however, said that the State Government is yet to discuss on the issue for constituting of an inquiry for fixing responsibility on the people who are responsible for the present crisis in NEIGRIHMS.

According to the Chief Minister, they will impress upon the Centre to take measures to see that the NEIGRHIMS is able to deliver as per the expectations of the people.

He, however, said that it is really unfortunate the patients who have suffered due to the ongoing crisis, adding that the government has followed all the directions of the High Court and officers were deployed in the institute the very next day to ensure that operations start immediately.
