Northeast Frontier Railway restores mail, express trains

With the improvement of law and order situation over affected areas of West Bengal, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has stated that has gradually restored a few long distance trains to mitigate the problem of stranded passengers. 

In a press release, NFR chief public relations officer Subhanan Chanda informed that the following trains, which were cancelled earlier, have been re-introduced to run via Malda Town as given below. 
DOWN TRAINS: 15960 Dibrugarh-Howrah Kamrup Express; 12516 Silchar-Trivandrum Express; Silghat Town-Kolkata Kaziranga Express; 13176 Silchar-Sealdah Kanchan Jungha Express; 12518 Guwahati-Kolkata Garib Rath Express; 12344 New Jalpaiguri-Sealdah Darjeeling Mail; 12552 Kamakhya-Yesvantpur AC Express; 12346 Guwahati-Howrah Saraighat Express; 12042 New Jalpaiguri-Howrah Shatabdi Express; 13160 Jogbani-Kolkata Express; 13148 Bamanhat-Sealdah Uttar Banga Express; 12378 New Alipurduar-Sealdah Padatik Express; 12364 Haldibari-Kolkata Express; 15722 New Jalpaiguri-Digha Express; 13150 Alipurduar Jn-Sealdah Kanchan Kanya Express.
UP TRAINS: 15959 Howrah-Dibrugarh Kamrup Express; 13175 Sealdah-Silchar Kanchan Junga Express; 13161 Kolkata-Balurghat Express; 12345 Howrah-Guwahati Saraighat Express; 12343 Sealdah-New Jalpaiguri Darjeeling Mail; 13159 Kolkata-Jogbani Express; 12041 Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Shatabdi Express; 13147 Sealdah-Bamanhat Uttar Banga Express; 13173 Sealdah-Agartala Kanchan Jungha Express; 15956 Delhi-Dibrugarh Brahmaputra Mail; 22511  LTT-Kamakhya AC Express; 13149 Sealdah-Alipurduar Jn Kanchan Kanya Express.
DIVERSION/ SHORT ORIGINATION: 15928 New Tinsukia-Rangiya Intercity Express of December 21 will originate from Dibrugarh and remain cancelled between New Tinsukia to Dibrugarh and 15927 Rangiya-New Tinsukia Intercity Express of December 21 will be diverted via Simaluguri-Duliajan instead of normal route. It further stated that NFR was also running goods trains over the affected section so that there was no shortage of essential commodity in NE region in spite of operational constraints.
Cancellations of trains 
Meanwhile, NFR has informed that the following trains would remain cancelled on December 21 due to capacity constraint in Kumedpur-Malda Town section as a result of damage to track and signalling systems during agitation against CAA: 13033 Howrah-Katihar Exp; 13034 Katihar - Howrah Exp; 13141 Sealdah – New Alipurduar Teesta Torsa Exp; 13142 New Alipurduar - Sealdah Teesta Torsa Exp; 13145 Kolkata – Radhikapur Exp; 13146 Radhikapur - Kolkata Exp; 13163 Sealdah - Saharsha Jn Hate Bazare Exp; 13164 Saharsha Jn - Sealdah  Hate Bazare Exp; 23141 Raninagar Jalpaiguri - Haldibari Link Exp and 23142 Haldibari - Raninagar Jalpaiguri Link Exp.
