NPCB&VI observes World Sight Day

State Ophthalmic Cell under National Programme for Control of Blindness & Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI) Nagaland observed the 20th World Sight Day on October 10, under the theme “Vision first” at Mt.S inai Higher Secondary School, Kohima. 

A press release from State programme officer (NPCB &VI) department of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, Dr. Mereninla Senlem stated on the occasion teachers were made aware on the importance of eye screening to the school children and to instruct the students those who were wearing spectacles to wear them regularly. 

A total of 180 students were screened, out of which 40 student were detected with refractive error. Free spectacles were provided by the National Programme for Control of Blindness & Visual Impairment, Nagaland.
