NPCC celebrates Gandhi’s birth anniv

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at its conference hall with former All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and editor, Supreme Saviour, Praveen Davar as guest speaker here on Thursday.

Addressing party workers, Davar spoke in-depth the life of Mahatma Gandhi and termed Gandhi as one of the best peace maker in human mankind.

He shared the sacrifices made by the Indian National Congress in the freedom movement and said Gandhi words will remain inspiration even in future.

Davar also shared the seven principles of Mahatma Gandhi seven deadly sins which include: Wealth without work, Pleasure without conscience, Science without humanity, Knowledge without character, Politics without principle, Commerce without morality and Worship without sacrifice.

NPCC president K. Therie in his presidential remark recalled the struggle of the Nagas and the birth of Nagaland People’s Convention and accepted statehood which gave special status under Article 371 (A). 

He said NPCC continued to remain gratitude to Nehru and family and also Indian National Congress for granting Nagaland special status thus allowing the state to have its own constitution under the 10 point modalities. 

The programme was chaired by working president, Khriedi Theunuo while vice president, Jonathan Ao highlighted on the training programme.
