NPCC questions intent of fake letters

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K. Therie clarified that neither he nor All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (I/c NE) Luizinho Falerio has any knowledge about the alleged fake letters.

In a statement, Therie, however, alleged that chief minister Neiphiu Rio has been fooling Congress leaders in New Delhi since 2015 with the help of some state Congress leaders in the past.

Also reiterating his party’s commitment to support NPF in the formation of a secular government, he asserted “we mean what we say”.

Mentioning that the signatures appeared to be genuine, Therie said the papers were perhaps used to convince “money-minded” NPF members to support NDPP and BJP while social media is rife with allegations that they have accepted crores of rupees.

He said anything is possible with NDPP – “they can do and also deny”.  “They support CAB at Delhi and deny it in Nagaland. He can throw any friend any time for his convenience for power and money,” he added.

According to the NPCC president, had Congress formed government at the Centre in 2014, Rio would have surely looked for Congress support. Stating that filing FIR may bring out the reality, he said he wants the FIR to be filed.
