NPGN/NNC reaffirms on Tatar Hoho resolution

Amidst the controversy surrounding the election of new president, the NPGN/NNC ministry of defence, Sumi region, Rengma region and Kiphire region have affirmed on the resolution of National Council of Tatar Hoho of May 30, 2019, where Shoba Lakhum was elected as the president.

In this regard, the ministry of defence, in a press statement stated that all rank and file of Naga army under the command of col. Iheto Aye chief commander Naga army “solidly” supported the newly elected president. 

It therefore, directed all personnel to maintain strict discipline and be ready to respond to the call of duty. The army wing also declared that there was no difference and division among its rank and file and that any attempts made by any personnel to destabilize its sanctity will be awarded punishment in accordance with the army code of conduct. 

In another press statement, NPGN/NNC Sumi region chairman, kilonser, Nitovi Yeptho while extending “unbiased” support to the interim president, Shoba Lakhum affirmed to stand on the decision of the National Council of Tatar Hoho. The chairman clarified that the Hoho was convened to replace T. Ovung as his tenure as caretaker has lapsed long before. The Sumi region further said that “feigning ignorance and defying” the “Yehzabo of National Council of Tatar Hoho will only shows his ignorance of reality and inflict self injury and self goal”. 

NPGN/NNC Rengma and Kiphire regions  through a press statements have also extended full support to the newly elected president Shoba Lakhun. 

Rengma region T.K. Rengma assured to work under the leadership of Shoba while chairman and kilonser, Tsasemong Sangtam of Sangtam region pledged to uphold the “yehzabo of NPGN/NNC” and work as backbone for the Naga nation.

NPGN/NNC Chakhesang region has condemned T. Ovung for imposing “president rule” and dissolving the ministry council of kilonsers and all political wings

In a press note, dy. kilonser-cum-Chakhesang region chairman of the NPGN/NNC, Chikoba Chakhesang said the region will not support or co-operate with T. Ovung but rather work under the dynamic leadership of president, Shoba Lakhum and ato-kilonser, Z. Hozheto Chophi.

In this regard, the Chakhesang region NPGN/NNC has appealed the Nagas in general to co-operate with the newly elected president.
