NPP laudes response to disasters

The Nagaland state unit of the National People’s Party (NPP) held its state executive meeting at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on August 8.

A press release from NPP Nagaland IPR secretary, Ricky Ozukum said that during the meeting, NPP expressed its concern over the recent spate of landslides that wreaked havoc in various parts of Nagaland which damaged more than 60 crucial roads in the state leading to many parts of Nagaland being cut off. The party extended its heartfelt condolences and sympathy towards the victims and those who lost lives due to the calamities.
The party also expressed appreciation for the state government led by chief minister, Neiphiu Rio and his team of the PDA Government, for the timely intervention in mitigating the chaos caused, and also for giving relentless support in immediately initiating the relief operation and massive restoration works of the affected Highways and District Roads.
It also expressed its gratitude to various departments, administrative units, Assam Rifles and local volunteers for their immeasurable support during the aftermath of the natural tragedy. The party further extended its appreciation to the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju and the central leaders for their swift and prompt attention.
NPP Nagaland also conveyed deep appreciation and welcomed the 7 MLAs from People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) who recently joined the National People’s Party (NPP). 
It also lauded NPP president and Meghalaya chief minister, Conrad K. Sangma for his able leadership that has given confidence to the people of North. 
Furthermore, the party also thanked NPP for appointing Agatha K Sangma as the Nagaland state observer.
