NRMSATA ultimatum on state government

DIMAPUR, AUG 15 (NPN) | Publish Date: 8/15/2018 12:09:40 PM IST

Nagaland RMSA Teachers’ Association (NRMSATA) 2016 batch has served a seven-day ultimatum, starting August 17, 2018, on the state government to release their four months’ salary. In a press release, NRMSATA-2016 president Sao Venuh, and general secretary, Haisoliabe Ndang, cautioned that failure on the part of the government to meet its demand within the stipulated time, the association would be compelled to call for total boycott of classes from August 24, 2018 onwards.

The association pointed out that it had on August 2, 2018 demanded pending salary. However, it said that even after a lapse of two weeks, the government neither responded nor invited NRMSATA executives for any negotiation in total disregard to the sincere pleas of the aggrieved teachers.

Meanwhile, NRMSATA claimed that an “unofficial office memorandum” notifying the reduction of RMSA teachers’ salary was being circulated on social media. Terming the OM as “an unscrupulous scheme” with evil designs to fool and confuse the aggrieved teachers, NRMSATA said nowhere in the history had any government reduced the salary of its employees.

The association said it therefore “denounce and treat” OM as “an insult of unprecedented nature”. In this regard, NRMSATA has directed all its members to restrain from believing any such notification, but remain mentally and physically prepared for any untoward eventuality.
