NSACS conducts training on OST

Two-day training on Oral Substitution Therapy (OST) centre doctors of targeted intervention; facility and satellite OST centre organized by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) commenced on July 9. 

A press release from NSACS media cell stated that, joint director of TI Division NSACS in her welcome address, thanked the participants from different part of the district despite the different challenges of travelling during monsoon. She also thanked Project Sunrise - FHI360 for the financial support towards the training cost. In his opening remarks, project director of NSACS thanked all and encouraged the medical doctors, who work sincerely in limited resources for better result. 
The release stated that there are 31 OST centres in the state supported by NSACS. OST centres supplies illicit drug users with the replacement drugs, supervised under clinical settings. Besides treating users, it also protects illicit drug users from HIV and hepatitis.
