Nagaland Science Centre (NSC) commemorated “National Science Day 2019” by organizing the 3rd Innovative Science Working Model Competition under the theme “Science for the People and the People for Science” at NSC, Dimapur on March 28. 

NSC, Dimapur in a press release stated that chief scientific officer, department of Science & Technology, Dr. Zavei Hiese, as the special guest, laid stress on science and its implications. He added that it was the fundamental duty of everyone to develop a scientific temper. The chief scientific officer also launched a new planetarium film "Two small pieces of glass" to be showcased at the space education centre.

Altogether 17 schools participated in the competition. Certificates were given to all participants and cash awards with free innovation hub memberships were awarded to the winners. Vilibo Kiba & Itokali Kiba representing Namghar Higher Secondary School, Dimapur bagged the 1st prize, Tiamongba Lemtur & Vishal Kumar Choudhary from Lorna’s High School won the 2nd prize and from St. John’s High School, Vinato Zhimo & Bauman Phom won the 3rd prize.
