The GPRN/NSCN has issued a clarification on a news item published on August 15 which reported that security forces in Tirap had apprehended ‘Khuliam Sumpa with arms and alleging him to be a cadre of the NSCN (U).’ A press release issued by the GPRN/NSCN stated that the said Khuliam Sumpas’ service had been terminated from the GPRN since 2016 due to his ‘undesirable behavior and impugning acts contradicting the Rules and Laws of the National Yezhabo.’ It added that whilst renouncing any such allegations, concern authorities must ‘ascertain their facts properly before jumping into conclusion and maligning GPRN.’ It asked the authorities to ascertain the fact before publishing the name of Govt. GPRN/NSCN.
