NSCN/GPRN-K warns on random taxation

NSCN/GPRN-K through its MIP has warned anyone indulging and misusing the name of the government, that if they are caught, capital punishment will be imposed as per the resolution and aza “and no clarification and statement will be given any if such occurrence is confronted”.

NSCN/GPRN-K stated that it was aware of the existence of random imposition of taxation by various groups on the business fraternity and the affliction caused to the public by national workers through taxation. 

In this regard the NSCN/GPRN-K has stated that after pulling out from Taga, and as a good number of followers were stationed in Yankahou village, “financial aid was in dire need so such collection and contributions was imperative at that particular period just to sustain our cadre station at that village”.

NSCN/GPRN-K however pointed out that taking undue advantage on initial transition, “many unscrupulous and roguish elements” started serving extortion notices on various businesses and is still relentlessly exploiting the general public.

It further advised the general public to remain cautious and vigilant of such payment/remittance, and avoid any payment without authentication from the concerned officials. It also stated that if such payment is made, the payments shall not be taken into account and will be considered null and void. 

NSCN/GPRN-K has therefore cautioned the business community, particularly in Dimapur, to contact the following concerned officials for any taxation related issues or for clarification: Hukheto Aye, military-in-charge of finance in Dimapur 7085742244; Kaks Zhimo, UT secretary Purana-Bazar to Chumekedima area 9862031119 and V. Chophi, in charge of government department, 8413897657.
