NSCN (I-M) flays GoI for ignoring Naga sentiments

DIMAPUR, OCT 22 (NPN) | Publish Date: 10/22/2019 11:34:20 AM IST

NSCN (I-M) has accused government of India of machination by trying to hoodwink Nagas into submission” under the pretext of “compromising with contemporary reality” but reiterated that “in the name of going along with contemporary reality, the political decency and Naga sentiments cannot be simply discarded into the dust bin of flattery.” MIP said the “agreed principle of honourable and acceptable solution cannot be sidelined into oblivion” but that “unfortunately, government of India’s insincere approach has brought down the Indo-Naga political talks to this level”.

MIP also said that by “going further to push the Machiavellian handling of the Naga political issue” the government of India machinated the use of primary stakeholders by “adopting ‘yes men’ groups and ignoring the others.”
MIP said the “ so-called primary stakeholders” was not only a misnomer in the absence of “majority Naga tribal groups” but also “ against the Nagas democratic practice.”It said this was only sowing “ the seed of division in the name of pushing Naga solution without getting the mandated blessing.” MIP also said it was strange how the government of India, represented by its Interlocutor Ravi handled the “Naga political issue by blaming the NSCN negotiators for practising procrastinate negotiation.” MIP reiterated that the reason why Nagas “are sentimentally attached with flag and constitution” was the same with the Naga covenant with God.
