NSCN (I-M) Rengma region has condemned the “raiding and unwarranted arrest of NSCN members” stationed at Tseminyu town by 40th Assam Rifles E Company under the command of Major RK Tahir.

A press release from NSCN (I-M) secretary for central administrative officer (CAO), Rengma region stated that the Assam Rifles has “time and again been violating the agreed ceasefire ground rules at the place of their choosing”.
It stated that AR had “brazenly targeted Tseminyu” and that such recklessness on the part of 40th AR was highly regretted. Further, NSCN (I-M) Rengma region asserted that “creating mistrust and alienation would not help promote peace process” in any manner but rather “discredit the role of AR for creating nuisance in the town” and disturbing the peace of the place.
