NSCN (R) clarifies, calls for restraint

NSCN (Reformation) president Y. Wangtin Naga has said that the unfortunate murder of “lt. col.” Toishe Yeptho of NSCN (I-M) on August 16, followed by alleged assassination attempt on the life of NSCN (R) defence kilonser Khekhato by NSCN (I-M) cadres on August 20, were uncalled for and should be condemned outright by Nagas as these incidents had disturbed God-gifted peaceful atmosphere.

In a clarification, Wangtin said NSCN (R) had no negative intention towards any Naga brothers and, therefore, there was no reason why any worker of the organisation would take the life of any Naga brothers at this juncture when every Naga citizen was longing for an early solution to the Naga political problem. Instead, he regretted all lost souls of Naga brothers in the political crisis in the past.

“When our Lord God has restored peace in our broken home and whole things improved, we must thank God instead of destroying His gift,” he remarked.

Appealing to all right-thinking Naga citizens to deliver impartial investigation report for peaceful resolution of the tension between NSCN (I-M) and NSCN (R), Wangtin promised to deliver impartial judgement if any worker of his organisation was found guilty of involvement in the murder of Toishe.

Till such a report was available, he appealed to NSCN (I-M) to display maturity by refraining from taking any further step. He also urged all important civil society groups and churches to deeply investigate the incident so as to help resolve the issue before it went out of hand.

And as promised, he said NSCN (R) would do justice in the fear of living God who saw and knew everything.
