NSCN/GPRN-Reformation held a programme to welcome ‘lt.gen’ (Retd) Nyemlang Konyak, former president breakaway NSCN (K) to its fold, on September 26 at its president’s HQ/residence, Takun-Pinhang under Tizit sub-division.

A press release by NSCN (R) through its MIP stated that, while welcoming Nyemlang Konyak, president NSCN/GPRN (R) Y. Wangtin Naga appreciated the bold and right decision taken by Nyemlang.

Wangtin said “the solution will not be a humiliating and betrayal one” as it fully respect and honour the historical and political rights of the Nagas.

He elaborated that the awaited solution will make power and authority rest on the Nagas wherever they may be and will be on the basis of Naga culture and traditional system “which will ensure more independence to the Naga people.”

Wangtin further said that “no one will give up sovereignty issue but we must walk in accordance with contemporary political realities.”

Nyemlang Konyak also appreciated the right steps taken by both Nagas and GoI for honourable solution and he called upon all the Naga patriots from non-ceasefire organisation to join the solution by choosing any of the Naga political groups engaged with GoI as all must dwell in realistic world.

He recalled the years he had spent clinging to the old methodology of theory of sovereignty and refusing to be part of contemporary pragmatic political system. He also added that he was now waiting to see “new days” for the Nagas.
