NSDMA issues Social Work guidelines

In reference to the proposed State Wide Mass Social Work to be conducted on May 4, the Home Department NSDMA, in an office memorandum has issued a set of guidelines for enforcement for the mass social work in respective areas of responsibility. 

The Department of Information and Public Relations, in a report, listed the guidelines thus: a) All clogged drains/culverts/natural waterways are to be identified and cleared to ensure free flow of water to avoid flash floods and damage to infrastructure; b) Encroachment of drains/waterways/discharge of terrace waters directly on the road surface are to be removed; c) Undesirable water- loggings to be drained; d) Excess rubbish dumps in waterways to be cleared; e) All departments to take appropriate preventive measures on available infrastructure and actively participate through respective DDMAs; f) The department of Rural Development may effectively sensitize and mobilize social works in rural areas through VDBs; and g)  For the purpose of over-all coordination and logistic contingency expenditure, and amount of Rs. 1 Lakh shall be sanctioned by the Home department to the DDMAs who will submit APRs with social work reports of their respective districts within one week.
