Expressing serious concern over the “complacent attitude” of a section of the Naga youth and students across all Naga inhabited areas in flouting COVID-19 SOPs laid down by the competent authorities, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has appealed to all   to restrain themselves in order to keep Naga society free from the deadly virus.

In a press release, NSF president Ninoto Awomi and general secretary Liremo R Kikon maintained that as the whole world continued to grapple with the danger posed by Coronavirus disease, NSF was anxious at the risk posed by the many superspreading events scheduled during the festive season. NSF has also appealed to all educated students and youth to strictly adhere to COVID-19 SOPs throughout the festive season and beyond since the vaccine was yet to be made available. Further, NSF appealed to student and youth community to be torchbearers in instilling a sense of discipline in general public so as to contain the spread of the disease.

Meanwhile, the NSF has directed all its federating units and sub-ordinate bodies to ensure all scheduled conferences, sports meets, jubilees and other events were carried out in full conformity with the laid down norms. It also requested the federating units and sub-ordinate bodies to ensure that their respective constituent units were properly instructed on the same. NSF also advised all its federating units and sub-ordinate bodies to dedicate a brief session of their scheduled event for creating awareness on COVID-19 to all the participants of the event.
