Asserting that Naga society was facing an economic crisis of unprecedented scale due to the lockdown, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has appealed to the Naga people to extend all possible help to everyone in need in their own respective capacities. In a statement, NSF president Ninoto Awomi and vice president Dievi Yano said that the lockdown caused tremendous hardships to the student community in particular, which could only be remedied by taking extraordinary measures with generous participation of the society.

NSF appreciated the gestures of those who had voluntarily waived off the rent of the tenants for the entire lockdown period. The federation said such exemplary act needed to be followed by those in a position to do the same all over the Naga homeland.

In the light of the above, the NSF has appealed to the proprietors of schools and colleges to voluntarily come forward and frame modalities/policies for fee waiver, which would benefit the truly deserving students. NSF also appealed the house owners to waive off rent of the tenants especially students for the duration of lockdown.
