DIMAPUR, JUN 26 (NPN) | Publish Date: 6/26/2020 1:19:37 PM IST

Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) and Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) have asked the State government to honour the June 12, 2018 agreement it had reached with Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association 2010 & 2013 (NSSATA) and the subsequent October 5, 2018 cabinet decision by bringing all 2010 and 2013 batch SSA and RMSA teachers into the school education cadre in the larger interest of teachers and students. In a joint statement, NSF president Ninoto Awomi and ENSF president Sepili Lsangtam, said following their intervention, the agitating teachers under the NSSATA banner were invited for talks with the school education department. Subsequently, meetings were held and a nine-point agreement was arrived at on June 12, 2018 among NSSATA, NSF, ENSF and the State government represented by school education principal secretary.

However, the duo regretted that the third point in the agreement that called for rectifying the nature of appointment of SSA teachers of 2010 and 2013 batches and the cabinet meeting held on October 3, 2018, which approved and decided in principle to bring all the teachers of the 2010 and 2013 batches into the school education cadre, had not been fulfilled till date despite repeated appeals from the signatories of the agreement.
