NSF felicitates HSLC Naga toppers

Naga Students Federation (NSF) felicitation programme for HSLC Naga toppers 2019 was held at Hotel Japfu on June 15. 

Special guest, M. Patton, commissioner, in his speech encouraged all to think globally, beyond family, tribe, village, nation and even aim to go international and to set a goal and work hard for it.  

Patton also encouraged the civil service aspirants for UPSC exams as it has been 11 years since a Naga has come out in UPSC exam. He encouraged all students to equip themselves with new ideas, accept new challenges and plan, map their career to arrive at their aimed destination.  He encouraged all to adapt themselves to the new fast changing world and challenged them to overcome their obstacles humbly. 

For students who could not make it this time, he stated that this was not the end and one should not be discouraged. Failure is a part of life and not misfortune and that it is not the end, he added.  

He also advised the parents to help the students by inculcating value and skills which can help them become a better human. He encouraged parents to recognise the skill of their children and not go against their aim and to teach children to be self reliant. He also emphasised on the use of local dialect as it was one’s identity. He mentioned that the NSF can be an agent of change in the society and that they can guide the upcoming students in a good path and shape their future. 

A short introduction were given by the 20 students who were present,  where  most of them stated that they aim to become engineer, pilot,  doctors,  chattered accountant and compete in civil service.  

Speech on behalf of the toppers was given by Keneisenu Tetso where she thanked all for the support given to them. She reminded that success was not only about being the best but that about hard work and efforts put in.   

Earlier, the programme was blessed with invocation by CRBC youth secretary, Jonathan Mesen followed with presidential address by NSF president, Ninoto Awomi. 

Altogether 34 students from Nagaland Board of School Education and 3 students from Manipur Board of School Education were felicitated. 

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
