NSF Martyrs’ Trophy: NHCYO, Viswemi FC enter quarter-finals

Naga-Hospital Colony Youth Organisation (NHCYO) and Viswemi FC won their respective pre-quarterfinal matches to enter the last eight of the ongoing 20th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy played at Kohima local ground on Friday.

Gideon Leo struck twice to help NHCYO register a victory over Fresh Kickers Tseminyu 2-1. In the match, Gideon Leo opened the scoring for NHCYO in the 17th minute and three minute later he doubled his lead to make it 2-0. Monush Lapang did scored for Fresh Kickers Tseminyu in the 30th minute but was not enough as Naga Hospital Colony managed to hold on the lead till the final whistle to go through the next round.

Meanwhile, Viswemi FC outclassed Viphoma Youth Organisation 2-0 to go through the next round. In a one sided match, Viswemi forwards were culpable of wasting their opportunities in the first half as they failed to find the break through. On the other hand, Viphoma team failed to register a single shot on target sitting deep on their defence line.

It was substitute Kelethuto Kin who broke the deadlock for Viswemi FC in the 46th minute, and went on to score his second in the 72nd minute to register victory over Viphoma Youth Organisation.
