NSF objects to proposed PHE departmental exam

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has expressed strong opposition to the proposed departmental exam by the public health engineering department (PHE) for recruitment to various Group C posts on January 13, 2021.

NSF president Ninoto Awomi and general secretary Liremo R Kikon reiterated its earlier stand for a ‘complete ban of all departmental examinations for recruitment to Group C post until Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) is implemented in the state and that all existing vacancies must be requisitioned through NSSB only’.

NSF, therefore, appealed to the PHE department to refrain from going ahead with the proposed exam by respecting the aspirations of the youth and student community. The federation cautioned that it would be compelled to take up actions it deemed fit if the department and all other departments took up “any action in contravention of this public appeal.”

Further, NSF sought the cooperation of all aspiring candidates and urged them to abstain from the proposed departmental examination “in our collective bid” to uphold and protect the future of the youth and student community.

Meanwhile, NSF appealed to chief minister Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet colleagues to fast track the process of implementing NSSB in the state, adding that indefinitely withholding the NSSB would prove detrimental to the state as a whole.
