Phezoucha Youth and Phesema Youth Organisation (PYO) won their respective first match to enter the pre-quarterfinal round of the ongoing 20th NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy 2019 at Kohima local ground on Wednesday.
In the first match, Phezoucha Youth defeated Young Kicker’s FC 2-1 to enter the pre-quarterfinal round.  Phezoucha team broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute of the match through Kevi Thupz to take the lead till the first half.
The second half, Asatuo doubled the lead in the 43rd minute putting their team in the front seat.  Avibo Awomi  scored for Kicker’s in the 59th minute but it was not enough as Phezoucha hold on the lead till the end of the final whistle.
Meanwhile, Phesama Youth Organisation defeated Seiyhazou Hill Boys 2-0 in the second match. Both teams failed to break through in the first half and the match looked like it was headed for tie breaker until Chedevi Mejura took the opportunity to score from a loose ball in the 58th minute.
Phesama team should have scored more goals with Abei Kaimo and Rokotolie Kuotsu missing two sitters in the second half. But Kuotsu got his name in the score sheet scoring in the 75th minute through a free kick for Phesama.  Seiyhazou’s striker Khriesamhalie Metha also missed a penalty in the 79th minute hitting the crossbar as the match ended in favour of Phesama 2-0.
