NTC office & facilitation counter building inaugurated

Deputy Commissioner, Noklak, Reny Wilfred inaugurated Noklak Town Council (NTC) office-cum-facilitation counter building at DC’s Office complex, an undertaking of municipal affairs and implemented by District Administration at Noklak on February 6.

According to DIPR report, while speaking on the occasion as special guest, DC stated that the concept of the building was to exhibit the potential to bring low cost housing in remote areas for officers, medical staff and teachers who suffered due to lack of proper accommodation.
He said that the district had scope to improve sectors in agri products marketing, aquaculture, tourism etc., and opined that two things would change the district, such as Education City & Tribal University where the district had an advantage of being in the international boundary and the other one was supermarket for plumbing & electronic goods.
He also suggested starting start taxi services in the district by Khiamniungan Menyiu Hoikam in order to empower women in the district and welcomed all to visit, suggest and criticise without hesitation so that improvements could be made in the future projects.
SDO (Civil) Noklak & administrator Noklak Town Council, C Phuniang requested all to work extra mile so that the real meaning of pioneers would come true.
He expressed gratitude to the DC for completing the project within 10 days and requested all to use the building in a productive way.
President, Khiamniungan Tribal Council M Thangou appreciated DC Noklak, Reny Wilfred, who was posted in August 6, 2020 and within six months, the first fruit of development was seen. He requested people of Noklak to cooperate with District Administration and the government for all round development in the district. 
EAC, Yithachu Thur also highlighted on the achievements and works under process within six month’s time of Noklak being a district.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by EAC L Mongo Khiamniungan, folk song was presented by DBs of Noklak, executive secretary, Khiamniungan Baptist Church Association, Hempao pronounced dedicatory prayer and vote of thanks was delivered by district planning officer, Noklak, Imsumeren Jamir.
