Nagaland University Students’ Union (NUSU) Kohima campus has appealed the state government to put up more stringent regulations against fire outbreaks.  A press release from NUSU Kohima campus president, Rhilo Mero stated that due to recent fires, lives of people and property could have been seriously damaged including two of the hostels, residences and quarters nearby. NUSU also urged all citizens to kindly refrain from burning anything in the forest as well as in and around the campus strictly.

NUSUS further requested public vehicles to refrain from entering the Nagaland University road unless very much needed as a precautionary measure to fight off COVID-19 and the fire outbreaks that had been going on.  NUSU thanked the fire department and all those who have supported in preventing any damage the fire and one particularly near the hostel and the guest houses.
