NUSU observes annual parting social

Nagaland University Students Union (NUSU) observed its 27th annual parting social at the RCEMPA Hall Jotsoma under the theme, “March Unabashedly to the Target” on May 23. 

The event was graced by professor NU, Dr. Rosemary Dzüvichü as guest of honour. 

In her address, Dr. Rosemary said that University should bring students together to think clearly, not to be agitated. It should provide the students to think to analyse, criticize and see the challenges for the betterment of the society.

She also urged the student to learn to give back to the society in term of their knowledge and service.

 “You are the thinker of your tribe, your community and your village,” she said and urged the upon the university students to look beyond their traditional mindset and bring a positive chance in society.

 “As intellectual, when you are about to step into the world, I hope you will look at issues Naga society is facing, issue of peace, violence, killings, discrimination,” she said.

She also encouraged the educated women to stand for their rights and voice out for the rights of other voiceless women.

Also speaking at the event, guest speaker, associate professor SCERT, Zavise Rume, thanked the Nagaland University for producing many good and capable students.  He stated that all were born with talent and resources so that everyone could should make use of it.   

He also encouraged the students to have a critical thinking approach in order to survive in this competitive world. The associate professor further advised the outgoing students to set a good example and be the agent of change as they venture out of this university.  

KABA pastor Temjen Sempo prayed for the outgoing students. 

Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by C. Amah Konyak followed by presidential address by NUSU K. C president Rhilo Mero.
