The district review meeting of the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) Longleng was held at CMO’s conference hall, Longleng on August 16. 

In a press release, district media officer, Roseline stated that District Vector Borne Officer (DVBO), Dr. Manyau Phom in his keynote address welcomed the attendees. 

He spoke on malaria activities and the challenges to eliminating malaria in the district. In his closing remark, he encouraged them to create more awareness in the villages and make sure that the LLIN mosquito nets issued to all the households should use them. 

CMO Longleng, Dr. Kongyan Phom in his short speech encouraged the vector borne staff to make use of the facilities provided by the government so that malaria cases in the district could drop to zero.

Consultant NVBDCP, Afen gave a slide-show presentation on the activities of malaria.

DPO (RCH/UIP) Dr. Imnameren Phom also delivered a short speech where he applauded the NVBDCP program and also spoke on the upcoming Measles Rubella campaign for the month of October. 

Junior specialist from District Hospital, Dr. Wannau Phom spoke on behalf of the sentinel site where he gave a brief report of malaria cases in the previous years. 

The house also discussed the roles and responsibilities of AW, AMO, SI, PFW. During an interaction hour, the field workers were asked to report the seriously ill patients to MO PHC immediately and take necessary precautions while collecting blood slides, use only sterilized needles, and maintain tour diaries and submit them during the review meeting. 

The program was chaired by DEO, Ongba; invocation prayer was offered by SI, Hamba. The meeting was attended by NVBDCP staff, SW, AMO, MI, PFW, SI and others.
