NYK Zunheboto conducts district youth convention

Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Zunheboto conducted district youth convention for the youth with the objective of building the capacity of the youth on February 20 at SKK, hall, Zunheboto,  with James Renbi Kikon, EAC as the special guest.  

A press release from DYC, NYK Zunheboto John Makhabo stated that, James Renbi said that in India 60 million youths were unemployed totalling to 23.70 percent in 2018, and in the context of Nagaland 25.5 percent of youth were unemployed, which is the highest in India. He added that in Nagaland every year 4000 to 5000 educated youth were added to the unemployment scenario. Stating that nearly 75% of Nagaland economy was controlled by outsiders, James encouraged the youth to join in the green pasture of meat production sector. He also made a clarion call upon the youth to make use of their land for productivity and income generating activities.

John Makhabo, DYC i/c NYK Zunheboto highlighted the various programmes and activities of NYK. He also called upon the rural youth clubs to play pro-active role in building the nation through their cohesive efforts. He exhorted them to avail govt. free skill trainings and become a professional. 

Sport materials were distributed by special guest to the youth clubs who have placed their applications for it. Special cultural presentation were given by the youth clubs members. 

Programme was chaired by Realito, NYV, Shiholi Kiba, NYV invoked Gods’ blessing, Ghunaka, NYV, NYK gave welcome address and Inakhe Chophy  NYV, NYK extended vote of thanks.
