NYKs activities in Pungro and Mon

Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kiphire organized a theme based awareness & education programme at Pungro town in collaboration with Saramati Nexus Club (SNC) Pungro and Pungro Town Students’ Union (PTSU) under the theme “Know your rights” on January 28. 

A press release from SNC secretary, Adilen Kipzz stated that, Nuhuta Tunyi EAC Pungro Hq as the guest speaker highlighted on the rights of a consumer and encouraged the consumers on redressal for any unsatisfactory circumstances. He elaborated on the rights and assured the consumers that the district administration will fully support in clearing any redressal submitted to the office.  Throngso, executive chairman PTSU delivered the key note address while Khiutsithong general secretary Public Forum Pungro sub-division delivered a short speech. Comedy Club Pungro performed an act on the theme. Yambothung Lotha chaplain 5th NAP Pungro delivered invocation while Shenlithong advisor of Saramati Nexus Club Pungro gave vote of thanks in the programme chaired by Longso secretary PTSU. 
Mon: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Mon has conducted district youth convention at NPF hall with Chumlamo Humtsoe SDO (C) Mon as the special guest on January 28. 
A press release from DYC i/c NYK Mon, John Makhab stated that, special guest talked about entrepreneurship and advised them to set up a small business like tailoring, barber and cobbler etc. He also stated that people from outside Mon district earn enough money for their survival and have surplus money to send home to take care of their family’s needs.  
John Makhabo, DYC, NYK, Kohima giving keynote address called the youth to put more voluntary service for the development of the district and state. He highlighted that NYK is the biggest grassroot level movement in Asia Pacific region with 1.5 lakhs youth clubs affiliated to NYKs and focussed on capacity building of the youth at large.  
Chumlamo Humtsoe SDO (C) Mon gave away prizes to winner of cultural teams and sport materials to the applicants from youth clubs. Programme was anchored by Phamnon, NYV, while the invocation prayer was led by Pangmei, NYV, welcome address was delivered by Chingsang NYV and vote of thanks by Hangpong NYV. Above 100 youths from various youth clubs attended the programme.
