Official visit to various project sites under Sungro range

Advisor of Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan visited Aree Old and New villages on December 10, along with head of offices from various government departments in the district. 

According to DIPR report, at Aree Old, Mhathung held series of meetings with villagers to take stock of the status of implementation of various developmental programmes. He also visited various project sites in the village before leaving for Aree New to have a similar meeting.

The team led by the advisor visited Okotso village and inaugurated horticultural link road, rural market and the village community hall on December 11.

Addressing the gathering, Mhathung reminded the villagers to make best use of the rich natural resources with the support extended by the government through various departments’ programmes and policies. 

Advisor appreciated the villagers for successful implementation of the projects and hoped that the facilities developed would be utilized purposefully.

Later, he also attended the inaugural programme of the 30th edition of Sungro Range Youth Sports Association meet 2020 as the special guest and declared the meet open. The team also visited Hayili area under Pangti village and visited the old abandoned irrigation project. 

Village elders present at the site made fervent appeal to help them revive cultivation by providing necessary facilities, to which the visiting team assured them of all possible support for reclamation of the abandoned fields and for productive utilization of the entire area.
