Opang Jamir becomes the brand ambassador of Liso

 Naga supermodel and Mr International India 2012, Opang Jamir who is known for his zeal to promote local entrepreneurship has now become the face of local beauty product “Liso”.

Liso is a local brand specialising in skin, hair and beauty products and boasts of manufacturing all its products from natural and organic ingredients.

The range of products in Liso includes skin care products, perfumes, soaps, shampoos and essential oils with a range of products designed specifically for children.

On one hand the brand is indigenous to Nagaland since all the products are manufactured at its factory in Dimapur. 

While on the other hand it also promotes local entrepreneurs as most of the raw ingredients are procured from local farmers.

Speaking to media persons during a Liso promotion photoshoot at Kohima on Tuesday, Opang said he was first introduced to a lip balm from the brand which impressed him and welded the bond between himself and the brand.

Opang, who has become a well known Naga face in the modelling industry for the past 12 years said the need for him to be health conscious even with beauty products had gained momentum.

He said all these years he had been using beauty products without giving much thought to its ingredients however after using some of Liso’s products his views were completely changed and that with his motto “vocal for local” he proceeded to becoming the brand ambassador for Liso. 

Pointing out that chemicals such as paraffin wax which are commonly used in cosmetic products for preservative purposes pose huge danger to human, Opang said the general population was not aware of such dangers and were blindly using unhealthy products.

Opang said Liso products on the other hand were made purely from natural and organically harvested products.

Giving a tip on any health products especially for hair and skin, he said those with a shorter shelf life were healthier as they have lesser or no preservatives.

As such, Liso products are made with the sole objective of making it sure to be healthy for humans although it lacked shelf life, Opang added.

He said ingredients like potatoes are bought from Pfütsero while other raw materials like papaya, need and aloe vera are procured from local farmers, Opang disclosed.

He said the product during its initial stage was only shared among family members and neighbours however it slowly gained popularity simply because of its health benefits and low cost, he said.

The brand is currently into mass production and subsequently we plan to make our products available at various stores in Kohima and Dimapur and we hope to place the products in over 40 stores by this year, Opang said.

He said he plans to take the brand to the whole of northeast and international market.

Liso has now over 35 products which can be found in online store including and besides a few stores in Dimapur and Mokokchung.
