Public Action Committee (PAC), Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has once again vehemently condemned illegal collection of money by State government agencies and non-State actors even as it urged the authorities concern to act immediately.

It also brought out a list of organisations indulging in collection at check gates and their rates. (See table)

At a meeting held at its office Monday to review the overall situation in regard to multiple collections by both State and non-State actors, the committee also decided to pressurise the State government to introduce a Bill for enactment of Criminal Control Act, which was submitted to the government for necessary action on September 9 this year, in the ensuing winter session of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA). It warned of taking recourse to action till the law was enacted

The House further resolved to remind the district administrations to immediately notify their respective district level price monitoring committee report in public interest, besides deciding that every tribe should arrange a standby of 10 volunteers to meet emergency requirements of manpower for tackling emergency issues.

It urged every tribe hoho to submit volunteer team leader’s name and contact number on or before December 20.

Meanwhile, PAC furnished a list of organisations and their rates of collection at check gates at the meeting (See table).

The committee alleged that the above information were just a tip of the iceberg.
