In the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, farming continues on the bank of Dzü River along Kohima-Chakhabama road on Saturday.

A press release from Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union (NCSU) stated that, while undertaking paddy transplantation in his paddy field, NCSU president Pele Khezhie encouraged the people of Nagaland to go ahead with the agricultural activities with seriousness for food security in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

Khezhie maintained that the challenges and threat posed by COVID-19 pandemic has channelized many people to get back to the fertile soil to attain self-sufficiency while also making efforts towards boosting the individual as well as state’s economy.

Keeping in line with the traditional practices of helping one another during paddy transplantation season, the family and well wishers of Dapfhütsumia Khel of Kohima village assisted Pele on Saturday to get the paddy transplantation done.
