Pangnyu inspects Naga Hospital Authority Kohima

“Service to man is service to God”  S. Pangnyu Phom, minister for Health and Family Welfare, told the doctors and nurses of the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) while inspecting the hospital on May 6. 

A press release from press secretary to minister stated that, Pangnyu acknowledged the services of the doctors, nurses and staff of the hospital. He also appreciated the clean hospital and asked the staff to strive to make NHAK one of the cleanest hospital in the state. 

Interacting with the staff present, Pangnyu also informed that the major renovation work in hospital will start soon under NHP project, where by he urged that every staff and patient visiting the hospital should consider the hospital as their own property. 

Informing that the NHAK will support to run the Nagaland Medical College (NMC) until the 500 bedded hospital attached with NMC was constructed, Pangnyu said that NHAK will play a vital role in uplifting the medical college. 

Pangnyu expressed his anguish on land encroachers within hospital and said that the patta issuing authority should carefully verify the land before issuing any patta. He further appealed to the citizens to be more responsible. 

He also inspected the ongoing Terci Care Cancer Center (TCCC) construction and asked the management to expedite the work to make sure that the project complete at the earliest. The managing director (MD), NHAK briefed the minister that the work was taking longer due to technical problems and unstable soil. It may be mentioned that this is the first TCCC in the state.  

Pangnyu also expressed his gratitude to the Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo (KABA) for voluntary construction of patients guest house in the hospital campus and termed the work and contribution of KABA as a “good gesture”.
