Expressing concern over the poor 4G service and inconsistency of Airtel Network connectivity in Phokhungri Area, especially Phokhungri village, under Meluri sub-division, Phek, the Phokhungri Area Public Organisation (PAPO) appealed the network in-charge of Bharti Airtel Nagaland state, to resolve it at the earliest for better connectivity.

A press release by PAPO president Krutu Thurr and general secretary Sihalu, stated that at unprecedented times like this pandemic, people from different walks of life, particularly student community depended on internet network for their lessons/online exams.

It however noted that power transformer was yet to be installed for the lone Airtel tower at   Phokhungri village, functioning only with a GB generator, where its fuels runs out every now and then, affecting its consistency of five nearby towers, which takes its connections from the Phokhungri tower.

It further maintained that Phokhungri was located at the Indo-Myanmar border, where people use Airtel network for its means of communication. PAPO also informed Airtel network that 4G network services in some villages was not functional or at grim condition.
