Patton and Bongkhao host day-8 of Hornbill Festival

Deputy CM, Y. Patton and Bongkhao Konyak, advisor, DUDA, on December 8, attended the morning session of the eight day of Hornbill Festival in Kisama as the hosts.

A press release from the deputy CM’s press secretary stated that the hosts were accompanied by BJP legislators and official dignitaries including the Home commissioner and DGP Nagaland.

Altogether 9 cultural troupes participated in the morning session. The gathering was entertained by Sumi folk-songs, Garo folk-songs and dance, Zeliang cultural troupe demonstrated the protective nature of worker bees through their honey bee dance, Angami troupe presented folk-song ‘Tsali Ludo’, Pochury cultural troupes also fascinated the audience with their energetic merit dance “Eho! Ehho”. Sangtam cultural troupes participated with a beautiful women folk-song, Lotha tribe, represented by Longsa village cultural troupe, demonstrated the traditional process of spinning cotton. The Kachari cultural troupe presented (Reemin Nehlaiba) traditional game practices by Dimasa people. Khiamniungan troupe enthralled the gathering with folk-song (Eio-Ah Shang).

Y. Patton along with the official dignitaries also visited some of the morungs at Kisama Heritage Village.
