Patton lays foundation for engineering college

Deputy chief minister, Home, Road and Bridges, Y. Patton laid the foundation stone of the Professional College (Engineering College) at Tsurangsa, Mokokchung on December 12.

After laying the foundation stone, Patton lauded minister of Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along for his tireless dedication in bringing a professional college, the first of its kind in the state, DIPR reported. He hoped that the institute will produce many young professionals in the coming days. 

Short speeches were delivered by minister Temjen Imna Along, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Limawapang Jamir and vote of thanks by additional director and HOD Higher Education Dr. Apeni Lotha. 

Joint director Higher Education and State Project Officer (RUSA), Menuokholie Kire while giving a brief introduction about the project stated that the total cost of the project was Rs. 26 crore and the funding pattern will be 90:10 between the Ministry of HRD (RUSA) and state government. 

The programme was chaired by joint secretary Department of Higher & Technical Education, Nungsangmenla Imchen. 

Presentation of cultural song and items by Japu Watsu unit, Dibuia Cultural Club and Longpayimsen cultural troupe were the highlights of the day long programme.
